Jean C. Walter, MD
Professor of Neurosurgery and Director of Skull Base Surgery @George Washington University
A native of Hong Kong, Dr. Jean graduated from Princeton University and Cornell University Medical College. Dr. Jean completed neurosurgical residency at the University of Minnesota and fellowship training in Skull Base Surgery at the University of Cincinnati. Prior to joining George Washington University, Dr. Jean was Program Director of the neurosurgical residency at Georgetown University. He is a much sought-after speaker at international conferences from Beijing to Rio de Janeiro, and serves as reviewer for many high-impact journals such as the Journal of Neuro-Oncology, World Neurosurgery, and Operative Neurosurgery. Dr. Jean is the creator of “Skull Base Surgery: Strategies,” a textbook published by Thieme in 2019, aimed at guiding trainees through the complex concepts of skull base anatomical nuances and approaches. He is also the co-founder of Global BrainSurgery Initiative, an organization that promotes neurosurgical education throughout Low-to-Middle-Income countries.
Robert G. Louis, MD, FAANS

Dr. Robert Louis specializes in minimally invasive brain tumor surgery, skull base surgery, neuroendoscopy, microneurosurgery and pituitary surgery. He has particular expertise in endoscopic and minimally invasive treatment of benign and malignant brain tumors, sellar and parasellar tumors and skull base tumors. Through the use of cutting-edge neuroimaging and neuro-navigational equipment, he utilizes the concept of keyhole neurosurgery, minimizing the damage to surrounding brain, vascular and soft tissue structures. Dr. Louis believes that most brain and skull base tumors can be resected through small openings or by utilizing naturally occurring orifices. This approach has been demonstrated to decrease post-operative pain, minimize neurologic complications and shorten length of hospitalization, resulting in better outcomes for his patients.
